  • Chris Woodfin - President

    Chris Woodin served as chief risk officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina for more than 17 years before taking on his current role as cheif financial officer for Community Care of North Carolina. Chris's wife Terry has volunteered with the Light a Luminary project here at the House for almost fifteen years, and Chris credits Terry with leading him to join the board.   • Zachary Hedrick - Vice President

    Zachary Hedrick is a commercial banker with Yadkin Bank in Durham/Chapel Hill and is responsible for developing and managing a commercial banking portfolio. Zac graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2002 and faithfully follows all of the Carolina athletic teams. Zac lives in Hillsborough with his wife and young daughter and enjoys spending his free time with family and friends playing golf or soccer. Zac joined the board in 2011. Find Zachary on LinkedIn

  • Jonathan Pruitt - Treasurer

    Jonathan Pruitt is Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer at UNC General Administration. In this role, her serves as chief financial officer and is responsible for the financial affairs of the UNC System and the finance and business affairs of UNC General Administration. He holds a bachelor's degree from Centre College and an M.P.A. from the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Kentucky.   • Toni-Ann Herwig - Secretary

    Toni-Ann Herwig, an attorney, works in non-profit law, estate planning, estate administration, and business planning. Toni enjoys cooking meals for the Ronald McDonald House and volunteering at TABLE in Carrboro. Toni and her husband Chris live in Chapel Hill with their dog Henry and sons Benjamin, Sam and Joe.   • Julia Burns

    Julia W. Burns, MD is a practicing adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist in Chapel Hill, NC. She has expertise in ADHD, OCD, trauma, anxiety, depression, Autistic Spectrum Disorder. parenting and death and dying. Dr. Burns graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in psychology and minor in music. She graduated from Wake Forest Medical School and did her internship, residency and Child Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia. Prior to moving to Chapel Hill, she was the Medical Director of a Residential Treatment Facility in New York. She joined the board in 2015.

  • Dr. Kathy Bradford

    Dr. Kathy Bradford is a general inpatient pediatrician at UNC Children’s Hospital. She has more than twenty years of experience caring for children with acute and chronic health care needs. She has been a board member since 2012. Dr. Bradford is a graduate of DeSales University and earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University. She completed a pediatric internship and residency at the University of Minnesota and a fellowship in pediatric critical care at Stanford University.   • Julie Curd

    Julie E. Curd is a managing director and director of client service responsible for client relationship management at Amundi Smith Breeden, LLC. She also serves as a liaison to the investment consultant community. Prior to attending business school, Ms. Curd worked in the non-profit community as a development officer for The University of the South and for the Medical College of Virginia and completed an internship with Lehman Brothers in New York. Ms. Curd holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, where she was named to the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society.   • Drew Duncan

    Drew Duncan has worked with Eisai, Inc., a pharmaceutical company based in Tokyo, since 2005 and is currently the director of human resources. He began his professional career at Eastman Kodak as a corporate recruiter. Drew has a B.A. in industrial relations from UNC and a graduate degree in organizational change and leadership from Pfeiffer University.   • Julie Farmer

    Julie Farmer works with the Neurosciences Service Line at UNC Health Care focusing on business development as well as quality improvement. She began her career at UNC Hospitals in 2004 and has had the privilege of working within the departments of nursing education, clinical care management and strategic planning & network development. She has a MHA from Seton Hall University and an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design from the College of Design at NC State University. She has served on the Board since 2011.   • Charlie Feuss

    Charlie Feuss lives in Chapel Hill with his wife Linda. He works as an attorney with the Raleigh office of Kilpatrick Townsend, where his area of practice is labor and employment law. Prior to moving to Chapel Hill, Charlie lived and worked in Minneapolis for 14 years and in Atlanta, where he graduated from Emory College and Emory School of Law. He provides pro bono legal services on behalf of several non-profits and has also served on the boards of many organizations, including two terms as board president of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies.

    Eric Freedman

    As chief investment officer at CAPTRUST Financial and head of the Consulting Research Group, Eric is charged with asset allocation research and tactical decision making, as well as directing the firm’s investment vehicle and manager selection efforts. He oversees all investment research and analysis within the qualified and nonqualified retirement plan market. Prior to joining CAPTRUST in 2006, Eric served as a senior portfolio manager for Franklin Street Partners, as well as vice president of the Goldman Sachs Group within the company’s equity derivatives and international equities businesses.   • Sherry Hancuff

    Sherry Hancuff

    Sherry Hancuff coordinates the community outreach program for Grifols, a global healthcare company with a major presence in the local community. She has developed strong partnerships with numerous local nonprofits through an active employee volunteer program which contributes thousands of dollars in corporate and employee donations. Sherry is a passionate supporter of the Ronald McDonald House, having stayed there 18 years ago when her daughter Kasey was being treated for hydrocephalus. He has a strong record of helping global organizations make the most of information to meet financial, competitive and regulatory needs.     Evan Nave is regional marketing manager for McDonald's in the Raleigh region. Evan began his career with McDonald's in June 2007 when he worked as a marketing/communications intern at McDonald's USA in Oakbrook, IL.   • Robert Orr

    Robert Orr has more than twelve years of financial services experience. Prior to opening the North Carolina office for Sandton Capital, he was part of the 2005 founding team at the de novo Square 1 Bank, where he held a variety of general management and corporate development roles in growing that institution to over $1 billion in assets. Prior to that he was a management consultant, most recently with The Monitor Group. At Monitor, he gained extensive experience advising financial institutions and other large corporate clients on growth strategies.     Allyson Peck is the financial officer for McDonald’s East Division where she leads the division finance team and oversees the financial discipline of the eight East Division regions, representing more than 5,200 restaurants. Prior to joining the McDonald’s family, she was an internal auditor for Sara Lee Corporation in Chicago, IL. Allyson is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, IL and is a C.P.A. Allyson, her husband and two children reside in Raleigh, North Carolina.

    Sissy Smith

    Sissy Smith lives in Raleigh with her husband Lonnie, their dog Hercules and their cats. Sissy has been vice president of administration and marketing for Mikels & Jones Properties for 16 years and oversees day to day operations from financial service to maintenance and construction. She also enjoys time being grandma to her two young grandchildren. Sissy volunteers weekly and looks forward to being at the House, and is happy to prepare a group meal for the families. Sissy also is involved in the Community Hope Mentor Program through the YMCA in Raleigh where she gives weekly one-on-one literacy instruction while developing a bond between mentor and student.   • Josh Tilley

    Josh Tilley is a principal of investments at Morgan Creek and one of the founding members of the investment team with a primary focus on public investments. Josh is responsible for the management and construction of portfolios across Morgan Creek's various investment solutions, including related research and analysis that spans a number of different asset classes and sub-strategies. Prior to joining Morgan Creek in 2004, Mr. Tilley served as an associate in the public investments division at UNC Management Company. Mr. Tilley functioned in various capacities, including research and due diligence that contributed to individual manager selection, overall portfolio strategy and tactical asset allocation decisions. Prior to joining UNC in 2003, Josh was an analyst in the investment banking division at Lehman Brothers where he worked to complete transactions totaling in excess of $6 billion across Lehman's multiple product lines.
