Pop Tab Collections
Pop tab collections are a great way to turn those shiny little tabs on the tops of your soda and juice cans into money for the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill. If you want to collect pop tabs but can’t make the trip to drop them off at the House, don’t worry. You can still participate! Simply recycle the pop tops at a center in or near your city and send the funds to the House.

The greatest thing about this fundraiser is that anyone can participate. Think of how many cans of soda and juice your school and household go through in just one month--and then multiply it times 12. WOW--that's a lot of pop tabs!
You can challenge your class, office, school, church or community group to collect pop tabs. Collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill teaches about recycling and community service while helping us care for the families of seriously ill or injured children.
Why just tabs and not the whole can?
We are happy to take whole cans as well...the reason we focus on the tabs is that we are paid at a higher rate for those...plus they are cleaner!
How much is raised each year?
Recycling centers pay between $.60 and $.90 per pound of pop tabs. That might not sound like much to you, but last year we raised more than $6,000 recycling pop tabs donated by individuals, groups, restaurants and schools!
Where and when can I drop off pop tabs?
Pop tabs can be dropped off at the House seven days a week between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill is located at 101 Old Mason Farm Road in Chapel Hill. Please do not mail pop tabs as the cost of shipping always costs more than we receive for the recycling them!
