Play for Emily Memorial Golf Tournament
The Wade family and the Greenville, New Bern, Washington and Wilmington McDonald's Owner-Operators in cooperation with the Ronald McDonald Houses of Chapel Hill, Durham and Greenville, were proud to host the Fifth Annual Play for Emily Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, September 20, 2010. When Emily Ann Wade was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, Emily and her family were blessed by the Chapel Hill House’s overwhelming support. After Emily’s untimely death, the family wished to preserve the bond and somehow repay a fraction of what they received. The Play for Emily Golf Tournament was created in 2004 as a way for family and friends to give back to an organization that helped them in their time of need.
This year's event was held once again at The Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, NC and raised a record breaking $70,000 for the Chapel Hill, Durham and Greenville Houses! Special thanks to the 2010 sponsors and golfers for giving their time and money to make a difference in the lives of the families and children that call the Ronald McDonald House, "home."
